It has no P2 connection, and Bluetooth headsets will lag with games.

The system shipped on Samsung's most expensive TVs is Tizen, and the company has already promised to take it too for FullHD and HD TVs. It's not an easier interface to navigate than the WebOS offered by LG, but you won't get lost since there are shortcuts to the things you use most. On the TU8000 the system gained a dark color, good for watching TV at night, but the interface and applications have become slower to navigate, which can be a little irritating. This can, of course, be resolved with a system update. At home, the bottom strip gives access to the apps you use most, adding, removing and changing the order installed apps. Some are already installed on TV and a store offers more, but despite having good things, the offer overall, it is poor. Of the few that have, 80% are very specific, but the main ones are here: YouTube, Prime Video, Netflix, Apple TV, Spotify, Deezer, Globoplay, HBO GO, FOX, Play Movies, Plex, Steam Link, and others. The Game Mode, according to Samsung, has been improved, since it already exists in the RU7100. When you connect a console to the TV, this mode activates itself and says to decrease the screen response time and activate extra features to improve the image, for example, optimize light exposure in the darkest scenes. The input lag was 10 milliseconds and the image is a little more fluid, very good for its price. A feature that first appeared on cheaper TVs is Ambient Mode, present only in models above that category. With it, you leave your TV on displaying photos, calendar, works of art and others, so that the device looks like a frame. Using your smartphone you can even reproduce the wall of your room, your room, on the screen if your wall is uniform.

Shortly thereafter, Google Assistant should also arrive as another voice control option. I chose Alexa because it is in our language and because I have other Amazon devices at home. You log into the Amazon service and whenever the TV is on, just press the button here on the controller and talk close to him. It has the normal functions of turning on and off lights, informing about weather forecast and schedule. But, using the TV, you can also ask to change channels, lower and increase the volume, turn off this device, ask to play something on YouTube and other services video and music, ask questions, and more. There is no single interface for voice commands, but what you say appears on the screen. The control of this TV is small, ergonomic and has many features I just didn't like the lack of the numeric keypad, something that can hinder older people and the volume and channel switch buttons are not very practical. Finally, typing on the screen with this control is very tiring. Since LG usually sells its special controller separately, it's a good thing that this TV comes with this special control.

Now there is a button and microphone to activate the voice control, as we said, and the button www has been replaced by a shortcut to Globoplay, which is a partnership with Globo. We also have shortcuts to Netflix and Prime Video, which were already on the TV and the previous controller. And this is a universal control: you can also control other devices with it such as your home's cable TV set-top box, including changing channels, accessing guides, and more. And in addition to the smartphone, you can also use the TU8000 through SmartThings, which is an application For Samsung smart devices. I had mixed experiences with it, because despite being cool, after a while testing the TV some functions just didn't work anymore, like screen mirroring. SmartThings works on any phone, but some features will be exclusive to Samsung devices. If you already have the app installed when you turn on the TV for the first time, the app will configure pretty much everything for you – if you came from another Samsung SmartTV and you already have a Samsung account, you won't need to do practically anything, the application already brings, including, WiFi password, Spotify login, and other settings – I didn't need to mess with almost anything at the time of installation. It also acts as a TV control, even more, complete than the special that comes in the box. If you want to turn off the TV in another room, or are away from home, you can do this, change the volume, change channels, change the input, everything can be done by the application. You can also access applications installed on your TV and Ambient Mode, which is even easier to configure than here on TV. For the exclusive features to Samsung devices, you can, for example, easily mirror what's on your smartphone screen, listen to the TV audio on your smartphone, or ask to hear the audio phone on TV – when you play music on your smartphone, a notification lets you pass that audio straight to the TV. With Tap View and Tap Sound you can touch your phone to the top right corner of the TV and she starts to mirror the image and audio instantly on the TV. The problem is that getting the position right without any clue is almost impossible, and it seemed so impractical that it's easier to use normal procedures. Finally, after a while, not even mirroring through the app wanted to work anymore, even though I reinstalled everything, disconnecting everything, the cell phone from the TV, and other measures.

So, I no longer have Samsung's exclusive functions, on my Samsung smartphone, after a while testing it. Apple users will celebrate that this TV already comes with AirPlay support, and it allows you to stream content from iPads, iPods and Apple computers to the TV very easily, even easier than the Samsung application itself that no longer wanted to work. Unfortunately, functions like PiP and 2 content on one screen are only available on more expensive models. One difference that Samsung is keen to highlight is the novelty of the name, Crystal UHD. However, despite what you imagine, the TU8000 does not bring a new display, but a Crystal processor which, according to the South Korean company, simulates a 16-bit panel and offers more accurate colors better completing the colors that are missing on the screen. Putting it side by side with the RU7100, you can see that the color control is more balanced, colors pop a little less but are also a little less vivid. The brightness is a little better, but will still suffer to reproduce images visible in environments with more light. The viewing angle is good even for an LED, but just over 20 degrees from the TV you already see white invading the screen and losing strength in color, but at least the image remains. The contrast is good for the category, but only reasonable if we consider other technologies and black is not entirely deep. About the previous model, differences exist, but they are too small to be a determining choosing factor. Whether you are not tech-savvy or not going to put the two side by side, you will not even notice differences. It's almost always good to have the latest model, but if you were looking for a much superior image it didn't happen here.

Another item that Samsung likes to highlight is the fact that the panel is 100% RGB, not bringing white pixels and making the colors more intense. If it doesn't seem incredible, at least it doesn't hurt and, as we said the color is well balanced, but not very vivid. It can play HDR10+ content, which is good for you to see things on YouTube and Netflix, but it's not 120Hz, although it brings the Clear Motion Rate, which emulates a 120Hz display. This feature makes the content more fluid, but more artifacts appear in the image and can increase lag in games. This is a VA LCD panel, which unlike an IPS, which has worse viewing angles, this brings a better contrast and refresh rate. In sound, we have 20W RMS on two channels, which is reasonable power. Few more affordable TVs like this one have a sound system that is sufficient for movies, games and music – we even have Dolby Digital Plus, but we didn't see that footprint or the bass and not in the treble, so you better invest in a soundbar or home theater.

At its launch, the TU8000 arrived costing $ 200 for the most sought after version, which is this one We're testing, the 55″ model. It is also available in 50, 65, 75 and 82 inches.
