After many years of non having ane, I am in the market for a new wah. Trying to stay around $100 new or used. So what is the all-time bang for the proverbial cadet when it comes to wahs? Was looking at the Dunlop Classic GCB95F wah or the Phonation 847A, but open up to suggestions. Thank you.

I think the Ibanez Weeping Demon (WD7) is a great wah. But like you, I went a few years without a wah, but picked up a used WD7 for super cheap this by fall. Beloved the variety of tones, plays well wherever in my chain. But matter that sucks nearly information technology is the horrendous size.

Cantrell Wah and Bonamassa Wah are also popular modern picks. Japanese Girl is a real sleeper.

Later on many years of not having one, I am in the market for a new wah. Trying to stay around $100 new or used. So what is the best bang for the proverbial buck when it comes to wahs? Was looking at the Dunlop Archetype GCB95F wah or the Vocalization 847A, but open to suggestions. Cheers.
Buy a used Vox 847 for $fifty or less and send it to Johnny at Alchemy Audio for their modern, for but $60.00
I guess that'due south $110.00 only with the actress $ten

I recall the Dunlop CryBaby Mini is one of the all-time value wahs around. Small size, truthful featherbed, battery or 9vDC and it has a iii-manner selector switch for low/mid/high eq range which I find myself changing a lot to suit what I'm doing. For $99 new it'south hard to do beat.

Only issue is the smaller size takes a lilliputian getting used to but having a wah the size of a Boss pedal makes it worth it.

Cantrell wah. I bought information technology last year and it pretty much ended my wah pedal quest.

I like my purple label bud-wah, doesn't have volume drop out, isn't ice picky and is very classic sounding. A friend of mine has a CAE and that is one rather exceptional wah too. Used prices are in your range although the CAE is looking more like $125 where the older bud-wahs like mine occasionally testify up for $75.

I think the Ibanez Weeping Demon (WD7) is a corking wah. Just like you, I went a few years without a wah, but picked up a used WD7 for super cheap this past autumn. Love the diversity of tones, plays well wherever in my chain. But thing that sucks about information technology is the horrendous size.

Cantrell Wah and Bonamassa Wah are also popular modern picks. Japanese Girl is a real sleeper.

Yeah, I'll 2d the WD-7.... Great pedal that can requite you a overnice classic subtle wah, or a crazy wild wah...

I take a Cry Baby Classic which is ok. Wouldn't mind trying the Xotic if I go a chance, though.

I had the Weeping Demon several years back, probably about the time it came out. Sounded really practiced and, despite its gigantic footprint, it served me well for a year or two. So it developed a signal delay between the on/off switching where it would go totally silent for 2-iii seconds. This was in the switched or automatic mode. I'd put my foot on the pedal (or hit the switch) and there'd be a 2-3 2d silence. Then the pedal would boot in. Same again when turning off.

Ibanez had no respond and it was out of warranty. So I went with a Budda purple BudWah and was much happier. If you lot tin can find a used on, that'southward the way I'd go. Very vocal quality that works equally well for rock, jazz, funk. I've had it for 10 or more than years and I still love it.

If ownership new, the Dunlop mini sounds slap-up, especially with a drive or baloney after it.
If y'all want to salvage upwards and shoot for another, the Xotic is a good target.

I recommend the Morley Mark Tremonti Wah. It's crawly. After using Morley wahs and their switchless design I only can't recommend anything else. If Dunlop could make a switchless Crybaby that would be ideal. As information technology is, the Crybaby is also difficult and awkward to turn on and off. I don't sympathise why they thought that was a good method of turning a wah on and off back in the mean solar day.

The 95Q and Billy Duffy Wahs are both switchless. They've made a bunch of switchless Bass wahs for quite a while too.

I take a Crybaby 535q that'south a great wah. I got information technology used for $80. 1 tin adjust taper, q centre, and there's an adjustable buffer/heave that makes it "fuzz friendly". Fuzz friendliness is a must for me. I as well have a Fulltone Clyde Deluxe which I bought new with was kind of pricey, only it'southward quite nice.

There are a lot of wah pedals out there that have first-class reputations I've never tried, and many accept the "fuzz friendly" buffer now.
